Healani's Name

50 Exp

Healani is a Hawaiian name that means Haze from Heaven. The pride took this name do to the smoke that mist on the ocean the night they came across their new home. Because this place is like a paradise to them and the fire was what lead them to it they only felt this name was fitting for their new tropical home.

The Cave

The cave is a place where the Healanian's call home and can put up there tried paws after a long day of roaming the beach and spending time in the hunting grounds of the jungle. They Cave has one big room that is like a community room where others can relax and spend time with others. in this big room is also a giant pool of water in the middle that they use as a watering hole. Above it  is a skylight that allowed light and rain to fall in. There are little corridors that lead extend off this room that lead to smaller caves that are served as rooms for each member of the pride and there is even a cave reserved for food. This cave is deep with in the main cave and is far below. Its so deep that is actually holds ice to do how cold it is. This allows food to stay fresher longer. Sometime you can find sneaky cubs messing with the ice and skating on it. Speaking of cubs there is a nursery cave in which all mothers keep their young and give birth in. This allows cubs to start making friendship and bonds with others at a young age and makes it easier to keep an Eye on them all!

Healani's Symbol

50 Exp

The Symbol of Healani is Made up of a Wave and in the middle of that way a bight sun. The reason this is the Pride's Symbol is that the sun dose not only remind them of the fire that helped lead them to the beach that faithful night but also a promise for a brighter feature and the wave represents the Ocean they use to fish in.

A Day of Fishing

Though there is a set place for the hunting ground that is good for small boars, chicken's and other small mammals the main resources that the Healanian rely on is fishing. Sometimes larger fish get caught in the tide pool by the cave but most of the time the hunters have to go out into the ocean and dive for fish. This can be rather tricky at time. Though the trick to this hunt is to tread lightly in the water and have a group of lions surround the coral reef and wait. They act as a border and try and catch any fish that try to flee into the open waters. While the borders are ready one or two lions are in the middle of the circle and are catching and steering up the fish. With a panic it is some times easy to catch many fish as long as everyone is doing their job. Once the lions have some fish they place them on floating boards near by. This way they get the most out of their hunts. Kaiholo Normally helps with the boards for his ability to create small whirlpools around the group to keep fish in the area and not escaping.

Healani's Cilmate

Healani's Climate is a tropical one most of the time and its humid due to being so close to the ocean. The Hurricane season is from June to mid November at the latest. Most of the storms that hit the beach are tropical storms and only once in a while will a weak category 1 hurricane all thanks to the Ancient Mother, the Moon Goddess. This is when the jungle is the most lush and great for finding herbs for medicine. The more dry season tends to be in the months of December through mid March with no real threat of tropical storms or scattered rains. Though it never really gets cold during the dry season. The tempters on the beach never go much below 70 degrees fahrenheit or 21 degrees Celsius. The caves stay cool from being under ground and are heated by those that are gifted by the Ancient Father, The Sun God.

A Great Danger

two major threats that the Healanian have to face are the stronger hurricane that flood the Caves and Gathering Circle. If the Ocean floods into the Caves then it could mean the lose of food, resources and shelter along with their water source. It would force them to find refuge in the jungle and that could hinder them for a time. It takes weeks are a time for the caves to dry out and be restored. The last threat is Sharks, fishing in the Ocean though offers a great feast of fish, urchin and clams can lead to injury or death by shark attack. The Splashing and commission of a fishing day sometimes attract sharks. Sharks think the sounds are that of a wounded or dyeing mammal meaning an easy meal. This means the Border Lions are at great risk are are normally stronger more experienced lions. The new hunters are normally the ones in the middle of the circle though rarely a shark can break the boarders it still stands as a possibility.

Strenght's and Weakness

No matter if you are Gifted by the Sun or the Moon the Healanian are great swimmers and enjoy playing in the ocean. It is strange to ever see a Healanian not drawn to the ocean as a young cub. The prides weakness though lies in the jungle and their ability to hunt on land. Though on one's own you can catch a rabbit or even a very small boar with ease if taking the time to do so it is very hard for a group of Healanian to catch a Deer or Elk. Any big prey is hard to snag do to them not being familiar with the Jungle and being able to maneuver over the uprooted trees. Deer and Elk are considered a rare treat!
