Dont Mess With the Queen

Kawai was sitting by the tide pool looking down at the tiny critter that lived with in it. She smiled as Likeke angrily batted away as a tiny crab that snapped back at him. Likeke was very determined to win the battle agenst his foe... "Keke, stop playing with your food" Kawai said with a small chuckle "It's not nice to torment the thing." She then used her paw and in one swoop squished it. Keke huffed and dug in. She closed her eyes and licked off the stuff left on her paw from her kill and enjoyed the litt- Kawai eyes shot open , wide as they can be as her fur dripped wet, the water was cold do to the cooling weather. Her eyes narrowed as Kai her mate rolled over laughing a big bellowing laugh, obviously the one behind the trick. The laughter soon turned into an awkward chuckle... then silence with a cheese smile. Her ears pinned back and with that she pounced on Kai and bit the nap of his neck playfully "You will pay for that" She said as she laughed and was soon tossed off and ready to pounce once again.

The Lost Cub

Kawai was roaming the vas wood area in which was used for hunting by her pride. She was heart broken and down in the dumps, her mates other mate Hukolani had just given birth to a rather large litter of cubs and was a proud mother of four health boys. Her own cubs where grown and doing their own thing now. She felt empty nested and longs for more cubs. She had let her paws sweep agents the grass and looked up at the night sky preying to the Ancient mother that she might bless her with another child. If only just one she would be happy even. A perfect little cub touched by her moon light. She continued to walk until she ran into a small lake that has never been found before and peeked her interest as she began to explore. The moon light had danced on the water and it gave it a rather unique sparkle. She was lost and thought about how nice it would be to bring her mate Kaholo here one day to dance under the moonlight and play like the old days. Or even her daughter, this would be a great place to train and work on her ice ability. Her thoughts where cut off as she heard that of a light cheap and some cries from the distance. She looked around and perked up her ears as she saw out in the middle of the lake was a little island with a small tree. A stranded cub was in the tree crying for help as loud as it could. with out thinking she walked into the water towards the cub with a flash of green scales appeared out of the corner of her eye. Allowing her to jump back and miss the teeth that had came at her. The croc was then back beneath the water. Kawai eye widen as she looked around. Seeing tuffs of fur confirmed that the mother of this cub was gone.  Her ears dropped as she passed back and forth the cub still winning from the tree. She had to come up with a plan...

An hour later Kawai had manage to carry a long up into a near by tree. Once on a branch she had steadied herself and threw the log into the water. Then the log made a loud splash the croc reemerged and sank its teeth into it, giving her time to jump below and land on the corc's back. She bit into its neck and it began to fling her about but she held on good and tight. After serval minutes the croc was dead and Kawai sat for a brief moment and huffed. Once she got her breath back she went back into the water and swam to the little island where the cub was. The cub was just barely old enough to climb the tiny tree out of harms way. Kawai stood on her find legs and picked up the scared cub in her mouth and swam across the water once again to shore. She looked around and called out in hopes this cubs pride would be near by...but no calls where returned...there was not even a sound. It was all quiet, the cub then yawned and nestled up to her. Her heart almost broke and with that picked up the cub once more. She was take care of this cub and raise it as her own. She limped back to her pride and warm den, noting to send the hunters back for her kill. She looked back up to the moon and thanked her Ancient mother for providing her with such a priceless  gift. The long trek home was very tiering for her and once back in the caves of her pride she was welcome by the healers and den mothers. She insisted that she was ok and that she would keep the cub in sight. She manage to get to her den and curl up tight around the cub who had been asleep the whole journey. With in moment she was fast asleep. Kai had quietly pocked him head in and smiled at his wonderful mate and took guard outside to make sure all was ok.
