When a member of Healani passes away, they are returned to the Sea, back to the Ancient Mother where their body becomes sea foam. The Bodies are prepared on a large piece of drift wood and often decorated with their belongings and favorite things like sea shells and flowers. They are then set ablaze while the drift wood is pushed out to sea. This way there body goes back to the Ocean but their spirit is set free and able to go back to the Ancient Father. Once the dead is returned back to the Ancient Parents the tribe gather at the Gathering Circle and a stone is added to the circle to remind the Pride that the dead are never really gone and its also a place to pay tribute and respects to them. This also makes their ancestors feel closer during celebrations, ceremonies and events. That way there are never to far away from paradise.
